In a life and death emergency you may call an ambulance by dialling 999.

The new NHS Direct service for telephone advice is available 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. Their service is run by a team of nurse advisers and is available by phoning 0845 4647, or you can access their website at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk

If you have a problem which will not wait until normal surgery hours, telephone the emergency service on 0845 6710270. A receptionist at Devon Doctors On Call will answer your call. They will ask you for your personal details including a telephone number where you can be contacted, and some details of the nature of the emergency. This information is then forwarded to the Duty Doctor who will call you back and either advise you or offer to see you if appropriate.

Please remember that this is an emergency service and is not designed to deal with routine enquiries or problems.
