Dr Phil Shute

M.B.B.S., D.R.C.O.G., M.R.C.G.P.
Qualified 1980 St. Mary's Hospital, London

I'm Philip Shute, a proud Devonian, husband to Dawn with 2 sporting kids.

I graduated from St Mary's Hospital Medical School in 1980 and worked my first postgraduate jobs in St Mary's.

I then spent 4 years in a variety of hospital jobs and general practice before returning home to South Devon to join Barton Surgery in 1985. My professional passion is general practice in general, "warts and all" (all my hospital posts left me longing for involvement in whole-family-medicine).

Outside medicine (if there is anytime left over) I am Medical Officer to Devon Amateur Swimming Association and a swimming judge though my first love in sport is Rugby (I was pretty good!).
