How
Do I - Get a repeat prescription
Repeat prescriptions
can be requested from the reception desk, by post with a stamped
addressed envelope or email:
scripts.L83032@nhs.net We would like you to use the tear-off portion
of your repeat prescription, but if this is not available or it is for a
drug that is not on the prescription, then you will need to put it in
writing, making sure that we have the correct name, strength and dosage.
Please allow at least 48 hours notice before coming to collect the
prescription.
As doctors we try to prescribe as much medicine as is necessary but no
more. Repeat prescribing is a convenient way of issuing medicine to
patients without them needing to see a doctor each time just for a
prescription.
It is important to keep prescribing under review. Patients can help us
in this by telling us about the medicine they are taking and any side
effects they are suffering. If you as a patient feel that you are taking
a medicine which is not helping your condition please tell us at your
next appointment so we can alter it. Also if you do not know, or cannot
remember, why the doctor has prescribed a certain drug please ask us to
explain why at your next appointment. If you have stopped taking a drug
please let us know.
